Football kits are an essential part of a team’s identity, and those on display at the World Cup are no exception. In this quiz, you’ll test whether you can identify which country wore a particular kit at the world championship.

Once you start the quiz, you’ll be shown 14 images of football kits that made the Football Kit Archive’s top 10 lists of the best-looking kits from various World Cups. The kits were selected from tournaments between 1990 and 2022, with an effort to keep the difficulty balanced. So you’ll find kits you’ll recognize more quickly (though don’t expect the absolute most iconic ones), as well as kits that should be more challenging. For each kit, you’ll see its average rating (1 = worst, 5 = best) and the year it comes from. If you get stuck, a hint will reveal the qualification zone the country belongs to—or would belong to today. On every kit, the logo, flag, or another national symbol is blacked out.

Just for interest: the very highest rating (4.29) within the selected period went to the German champions’ 1990 kits, which you can see in the image.
